Peter Broderick shares electronic rework of viral song ‘Let It Go’
Today, American singer-songwriter Peter Broderick releases an electronic rework of Let It Go, the centerpiece of his 2020 album Blackberry. The remix comes courtesy of Phoenix-based producer Desolent, who discovered the track after it went viral on TikTok in early 2024.
The buzz began when the TikTok account Yami Club filmed a spontaneous moment in Berlin, asking a passerby what he was listening to. His answer sparked a wave of curiosity and admiration. The clip has since amassed over 50 million views worldwide across Yami Club’s channels, ultimately finding its way to Desolent, who reimagined the track with his signature atmospheric touch. Today, that rework sees its official release.
Alongside the today’s release, Broderick has self-directed a video, using old VHS footage of his skating days in Oregon in the ‘00s. In the video, we follow Broderick’s highs and lows on top of the skateboard.
“Let It Go’ has been mysteriously taking on a life of its own and picking up some unexpected steam nearly five years after its initial release. This remix by Desolent made its way to me entirely unsolicited, I fell in love with it, and got inspired to make a music video with old skateboarding footage from when I was a teenager. Please feel free to head bang to this track while watching me eat the pavement!” — Peter Broderick
