Yu Su reworks Hatis Noit’s ‘Himbrimi’
Captivating Japanese vocal artist Hatis Noit has shared new single Himbrimi, reworked by Kaifeng-born, London-based producer and sound artist Yu Su. This single is the latest from Hatis Noit’s upcoming album, Aura Reworks, which reimagines her acclaimed 2022 debut album, Aura, by legendary artists and collaborators, to be released 26 September.
Yu Su’s remix of Himbrimi transforms Hatis’ bouncing vocals into psychedelic dance-focussed rhythms, retaining her cries, soaring over the heady electronic beats below. On her new interpretation of the single, Yu Su says: "Himbrimi is my favourite track on Hatis' album. It has a deeply cinematic and rhythmic quality, executed in a very composed manner. I wanted to further emphasise and ground the piece by adding a layer of foundation through the rework.”
